I think Federer relax a bit after getting the break, he went into this mental walk about in the middle of the set with double faults, Berdych played some great points to break back and now has the confidence to push Federer, it may not be a bad thing as long as Federer get through this match. Federer need to mix up his shots a bit more with slice, angle and depth. The other thing I noted is Berdych is getting better with his defence, he is getting a lot of ball back in defensive position. Federer is trading blow with Berdych and I think it is a mistake.

Berdych is serving very well specially on break points.

That gawky Czech is being a real annoyance. Why can't he just step aside like a gentleman and let Roger proceed to the final? It's the right thing to do.

Maybe he's wrong generation?

Fed can't afford to relax. If Berdych wins set 2 he'll be in big
trouble. He already looks like he's tiring.

Er... you moron. Thats not what I meant. Kerber has been crap ever since she has been #1.

Kerber's results are no.1 worthy. The computer got it it right.
Completely fucked up with Pliskova though. Nothing in her record
warrants no.1 status.

You have a very sad approach to tennis. I never took much pleasure when
my faves beat weak players in slam finals. In fact I felt a bit cheated
as these slam finals are forgotten in a few weeks. You have the
opposite approach. You would rather Fed play Simon & Bagditis types in
slam finals. In fact you relish it. I can't take you seriously as a
pure tennis fan when you don't want to see the best, most dangerous guys
in slam finals. Sport is meant to be a true battle of the best
available players, not some outclassed patsy being ripped to shreds.
Boring for true tennis fans. Fed fans are something else. Weirdos imo.

They make movies about Borg v Mac, while Borg v Tanner, Mac v Lewis are
forgotten, just as nearly all Fed's slam wins are hard to remember as
they are not memorable.

In fact the only Fed slam finals people will remember are the ones v
Nadal, exactly the kind of opponent you don't want Fed to ever play.

I'm sure you're happy, you're just a very different 'tennis fan' to most
people.

When Chris Lewis made the Wimbledon final v McEnroe, & Pioline Wimbledon
final v Sampras I was very disappointed & lost interest in watching.
You're the exact opposite - you pray for the weakest possible players
for Fed. I will never relate to that. It only makes sense if Fed is
your brother or something, but a true sports fan you most certainly are not.

Roger is a very fine tennis player. Most of his fans are cowards from
what I see. Petrified of tough opposition. Oddballs.

First of all, stop whining. You should be happy that a fellow Croatian cheater is in the Wimbledon final. And putting McEnroe's Chris Lewis match alongside Borg-Tanner is really stupid, because I remember the latter, and it was an excellent 5-setter. Tanner did a hell of a lot better vs. Borg than Connors the previous year.
PeteWasLucky <waleed.khedr@gmail.com>: Jul 14 01:04PM -0400

Specially when he is down in the score and break points.

That's like saying 8 elephants are no biggie compared to 10 pigs. Anyway, it's no done deal yet. Federer still has to get past AvianExcrement and the beady-eyed Croat juicer.

Frankly I think modern grass game is damn boring compared to matches on
clay which is for real tennis players. You know the surface where the
player who plays better tennis wins and not the bigger server...

Having currently scoreboard open, might tune in for some tie-breaks.
Watching French art films instead. Hell, even they are more fun than
this serve fest tournament.

Wouldn't have beaten Cilic with that lackluster, soft level of play.

Better he has a bad match with Berdych- assuming he wins- than with Cilic.

Wow, not since Mac in 82 has year-end #1 gone to a slamless player?
Didn't know that. Great stat.

Crazy, because Connors won W and USO that year, was the obvious "best
player". IIRC, in 75 and 77 all four slams were won by different
players, so it was less egregious those years.

Well, Berdych is older too and the bottom line is he's not as good as Federer. Sure anything can happen, but my money is on Federer to beat Berdych.

Yes, Fed has less control over big servers but as I said, his record vs big servers is one of the best and also you are forgetting that Federer has a pretty good serve himself?

Yes this is me, never give in, but also I never underestimate what needs to be done to succeed specially when we are too close to achieve it.
