Maybe. With him you never know. He might be breaking out that "knee injury" soon.

You've just sealed Federer's fate--thank you! If Federer and Nadal meet, now I know for sure Federer will win since you've predicted the opposite! :)

WRONG! Nadal never had wrist surgery. Has he ever had surgery for any of his "chronic injuries?" All of his injuries tend to magically heal or progress again depending on whether it's clay season or not.

i don't think nadal will make it far enough to play him. does that
even it up? :-)

LOL! And if he loses again in the 2nd round at Wimbledon, what level will he be at or even better if he makes it all the way to the final for the first time in six years and loses to Federer I guess that would mean his level was abysmal. Is that correct? *rolls eyes*

If he's making hc finals on a faster hc, his level is high. You can't keep changing his level based on whether he wins or loses to Federer! He's having one of the best seasons of his career so far. He's made seven finals out of the the 10 tournaments he played.

I hope it's Rosol that does him in.

You think he's "there" unless he somehow makes the Wimbledon final for the first time in six years and loses to Federer. Do I have that right?

The fact is that Rafa has been improving gradually since 2015 low... He
already played better in 2016 but sidetracked with injuries and lost a
competitive semi at Olympics to Delpo. At AO he was playing well but
wasn't yet quite up to the task mentally in the end and lapsed when it
really mattered. He still had a minor lapse at Rome but finally all came
together at RG.

What happens at Wimbledon will probably have more to do with condition
of his knees rather than his game/mental side which I believe to be good
now.

So what does that mean? His timely knee injury is back? Should we expect a withdrawal at Wimbledon? I can hear the press conference now:

"I try play the exhibition matches and I feel something with the knee again, no? I gonna try resting to see if I can recover in time to blitz through the competition in time for the USO, no?"

LOL. Here we go with the knee excuse all ready by the Vamos Brigade! It never fails! And if he somehow makes the final of Wimbledon for the first time in six years and somehow loses to Federer, what will that mean about the state of his poor knees?

i honestly don't see nadal in the 2nd week, but if he makes the F i
think he'll win.

So Bob what is the importance of that equation in this topic ?

did nadal not have wrist surgery after pulling out of the middle of
the FO and then the grass tuneups last yr?

i thought he did, but if i'm wrong, well he at least pulled out of the
FO while doing very well, certainly that wasn't faking an injury?

rafa has lost the 1st week of wimbledon for the past 5 yrs hasn't he?

if he makes the F and loses to fed i'll believe fed has upped his game
and nadal would be at or near his own peak. but i don't think it's
going to go down like that.

no, i think rafa' is "there" no matter what happens at wimbledon.
because he lost many early rounds past 5 yrs anyway, even at peak.

but i do believe he's changed his game a little, his strategy a
little, and he did it cause his body isn't what it was. and i do
believe he sucked better part of last 2 yrs, and during early 2017 he
was finding form again. no excuses. you can print that and remind me
of it after the tournament. unless he gets hurt. :-)

the topic says "Cilic will be dangerous in Wimbledon" so probably has
no relevance to Cilic's form at wimbledon, except that when a racket
hits a ball it applies a force, and a direction! woohoo!

if he makes the F and loses to fed it won't be his knees. it'll be
because fed is playing great tennis. but i don't think it's going to
happen like that.
