As an aside, I disagree with the trend of razing Confederate statues and monuments, which IMO is essentially a type of cultural revisionism.

I agree for any monument erected before 1900. The problem is most were put up in the 1960s in a clear response to the civil rights act. I mean, why would Arizona even have confederate memorials in the first place?

Hewitt could not cut in this era but shred Sampras in USO .
The Iceberg <iceberg.rules@gmail.com>: Jun 15 04:56AM -0700

Yes but this was proved by Lleyton Hewitt back in 2011 when he gave Fed a good beating on grass!

After losing 20+ times then won a match in a warm up event. Good on him for winning but it wasn't in a grand slam.

Hewitt doesn't care for mickey-mouse tournaments like Wimbledon and US open. Sure he let Federer beat him there all those times, but Hewitt won when it really mattered at the Halle open.

Yes, he also only show his true form once in 20 years.
PeteWasLucky <waleed.khedr@gmail.com>: Jun 15 05:42AM -0700

He set high goals for himself this year.
Also he almost took out Federer in last year Wimbledon and we know what happened after.
Definitely I hope he won't be on Federer's side of the draw.

They are friends & Fed should have won in 2. Once it went 3 it was a
coin toss on the grass.

He'll be fine. He's hitting well enough to get through early rds at
Wimbledon & will get his matchplay there.

Agreed. Fed is hitting it pretty good. He doesn't need to work much on
his game, more the mental approach. He'll sail through the early rds at
Wimbledon without breaking a sweat. Could even romp to the title if
Rafa doesn't bring his A game.

Relax guys he'll be fine. He doesn't need a lot of match play on grass.

What's loony about it?

You guys are always discounting FO as the 'grinder slam'. That's
pathetic. It's the ultimate test on clay.

That's the bottom line. It doesn't matter how any of us feel about it,
slams are all that matter.

You're missing my point completely. I'm not suggesting we discount any
slams - eg Djoker's AO record is breathtaking & can't be ignored.

This is just a way to compare past greats like Borg to Fed/Rafa on a
more realistic level.

Pathetic ? Sampras must be pretty pathetic since he was never brave enough to take on the challenge in winning the ultimate test on clay. By the way why did you claim it was the slam that required the least natural talent ? Clearly your bs just does not stand just like other BS.

It certainly does. That was one unforgettable slam. For Fedfuckers it
would have been pure nirvana.
