Right, it's not sarcasm. It's irony. And irony only works if there is also some truth to it. Federer's main rivals are Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray who are all more or less counterpunchers of some sort. So it should be obvious that their game styles depend more on their retrieving abilities and physical endurance than Federer's. But isn't that what Federer fans kept saying for ten years now? So you should be happy that it finally happened. The wait is over!

The truth is Federer is almost 5 years older than Nadal and almost 6 years older than Djok and Murray, Federer's own mobility and enurance also declined as he got older.

That is two surfaces and three different slams.

Yes, and three slams that all count more than the FO. But skriptis already knew that. He was just being his usual arachnid self.

Is 66% titles on one surface really worse than 94% of titles on
two surfaces?

If you want to talk about balance, honestly, Nadal is second best
ever.

So I don't get this "clay heavy resume".

Federer has won
10 HC × 7 grass × 1 clay
= 70 pts

Nadal has won
10 clay × 3 HC × 2 grass
= 60pts

Another FO would push him to 66, while another Wimbledon would
push him to 90, surpassing Federer.

This is best way to compare versatility without penalizing players
for success on certain surface.

70 Federer
60 Nadal
24 Djokovic
12 Connors, Wilander
6 Agassi

This is what I expected from Rafa - just thought the set scores would be
a little tighter & a 3hr match not 2.

10 FOs is mind blowing really. It's the hardest slam to fluke, & to win
many times. Imo Rafa is the only guy you can clearly say is the best
ever on a tennis surface. Nobody else can say that to the same extent.

That means he's automatically in any short list of goat talk.

Rafa has been on a great run for 6 months. Doubtful he can keep this
level going, but hope he can.

Nah, as valuable as W was to Sampras, his ultimate goal was GOAT, and
that's been gone for a while now. This just rubs more salt in.

Surely in order to pardon someone that person needs to have committed a
crime or an act against the United States. The president would be
agreeing that Flynn has committed a serious 'crime'. I doubt he'd want
to do that.

Sports has internal laws of progressive governance along lines of cultural manifestation. For the balance of the 21st Century his will be a standard, a kind of hyper metric like Joe Louis' 25 heavyweight title defences or Babe Ruth's 714, which will more than likely last most of the balance of this century. At least one would think so. Even sports records have 'singularities' though true metric singularities (records) are - as one might expect - even more rare.

Can Rafa beat Borg playing with wood rackets??
*skriptis <skriptis@post.t-com.hr>: Jun 11 06:01PM +0200

15 Federer
13 Sampras, Nadal
9 Djokovic
8 Borg

If he's truly worthy of being their level he has to regroup and be
competitive for a couple of more years.

excellent point, never heard it said that way before. it really does
look like a 2H FH. but a powerful attacking stroke no doubt.
