We must do everything we can to preserve our democracy
and oppose the current drift toward authoritarianism Trump represents.

That's from the mouth of an American traitor who, if he could, would
destroy our democracy. Sic Depp on him.

This was Bernie's angry response when he heard a rumor that the new
Republican health care bill might raise the cost of Depends Adult Diapers.

So he's basically the Rodney Dangerfield character in Caddyshack?

(Though "Hey everybody! We're all gonna get laid!" Might be as brilliant a campaign slogan as MAGA)

I didn't know that RD was President of the US.

But he could be - LBJ set the precedent for electing fools like Obama
and RD.

Pulled this from Facebook:

[A]. It's about freedom. The freedom to walk away from your medical bills and leave them to the rest of us to pay. Freedom!!

[B] I had to file chapter 7 because of Medical bills... y'all still get to pay.

[A] For 20+ years, uncompensated care - those bills that hospitals have to absorb - hovered around 6%. In 2014, they dropped to 5.3%. In 2015, 4.2%. That represents a drop of $11 billion since 2013, but still over $35 billion. (source: AHA UNCOMPENSATED HOSPITAL CARE COST FACT SHEET). You know who pays that $35 billion? We do, in higher health care costs. Fewer people with insurance equals more uncompensated care, because it turns out that people who don't need health insurance still have things happen that require health care.

[B] I have Insurance, the trouble is the long term stuff after a major issue. like a Stroke while undergoing Brain Surgery. not many people can take a year or more to recover it's just financially impossible.

[B] so then Credit card rates go up too, and other stuff as well.

So, I guess this is the solution to that Iowa guy? Just tell him to declare bankruptcy.

It must be easy to use an exception to illustrate frequency.

What would have happened before the UnACA was passed?

What would happen if we let the worthless people die and assisted only
those who made their best effort?

If, as liberals believe, equality can be legislated, the man would not
have medical problems that others did not.

Life is not fair - liberals make it unfairer by robbing responsible
people to pay those who are not.

"Democrats should put immigrants' learning English at the center
of their immigration agenda," claims Peter Beinart, author of
"How the Democrats Lost Their way on Immigration" in the
July/August issue of The Atlantic.

If more immigrants speak English fluently, native-born whites may
well feel a stronger connection to them, and be more likely to
support government policies that help them. Promoting English
will also give Democrats a greater chance of attracting those
native-born whites who consider growing diversity a threat…

… What if [Hillary Clinton] had challenged elite universities to
celebrate not merely multiculturalism and globalization but
Americanness? What if she had said more boldly that the slowing
rate of English-language acquisition was a problem she was
determined to solve? What if she had acknowledged the challenges
that mass immigration brings, and then insisted that Americans
could overcome those challenges by focusing not on what makes
them different but on what makes them the same?

This means opposing the guest-worker [H-1B, H-2B, OPT, etc.]
programs … [and immigration] enforcement need not mean tearing
apart families, as Trump is doing with gusto. Liberals can
propose that the government deal harshly not with the
undocumented themselves but with their employers.

None of this means that liberals should oppose immigration. Entry
to the United States is, for starters, a boon to immigrants and
to the family members back home to whom they send money. It
should be valued on these moral grounds alone.

By the spring of 2016, one top Clinton adviser explained to me,
the campaign's own polling showed that white voters without a
college degree despised Clinton … [Clinton] never fully met her
most important political challenge: the need to both celebrate
multiculturalism and also cushion the backlash against the
celebration … Nonetheless, neither Clinton nor her campaign
manager, Robby Mook, had any apparent interest in that appeal.
They considered Trump's disreputable [pro-American] character the
issue that would carry the election

… immigration benefits the economy, too. Because immigrants are
more likely than native-born Americans to be of working age, they
improve the ratio of workers to retirees, which helps keep
programs like Social Security and Medicare solvent. Immigration
has also been found to boost productivity, and the National
Academies report finds that "natives' incomes rise in aggregate
as a result of immigration."

Vegan Madoff is a couple of ratings above Kelly, in my opinion. Kelley
has an almost stark look to her face as she ages. Inmate #SexyBitch has
striking and smooth features that are as interesting as her personal
history.

Add a yearning for total physical and mental domination by men and you

Another law suit against a city for being irresponsible.

According to the owners of more than five dozen businesses which
were damaged or totally destroyed in the riots, there's plenty to
talk about and they plan on doing so in a court of law. Over
sixty businesses have banded together and filed suit against the
city, the mayor (at the time), the Chief of Police and others,
saying that they abjectly failed in their duty to prevent the
destruction of property and injuries which resulted from riots
which were not only predictable, but preventable if the municipal
government had acted responsibly. (Baltimore Sun)

MSNBC host Ali Velshi delivered a verbal train wreck when trying
to identify Sen. Dick Durbin during Thursday's broadcast of
"Velshi and Ruhle."

After airing a clip of Sen. Durbin speaking on the Senate floor
about the "Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017," the
healthcare reform bill introduced by Republicans that morning,
Velshi turned to his co-host Stephanie Ruhle and uttered the
following, painstakingly inaccurate description.

"Ohio Senator Dick Durbin, Deputy Leader in the House."

There were three major errors in those nine words.

First of all, Sen. Durbin represents Illinois, not Ohio.

Second, he is the Senate Minority Whip, not the "Deputy Leader,"
which isn't even a real position.

Finally, Durbin obviously doesn't serve in the House considering
he is a Senator. Durbin used to be a House Representative, but
that was only until 1997.
