You'll be glad to know that a professor at Emory University has wasted who knows how many hours in study to determine which NFL team has the "best fans."

Apparently the three criteria he applied in determining his ranking were: Fan Equity, Social Media Equity and Road Equity. What are these various forms of equity? Fan Equity is how much money fans spend on their team, that is, how much support they show with their wallet. Social Media Equity is how many social media followers a team has and Road Equity, is based on how much support each team gets on the road.

The big winner is the Dallas Cowboys. The big losers? The Kansas City Chiefs.

I can easily see both ends of this... The Cowboys (Jerry Jones) milk their fans like Holsteins. That fabulous new stadium has seats that start around $100, not including the Sherpa that guides you to your assigned perch. Oxygen tanks not included. I'm told a cheese pizza from the concession runs $95.

The irony is that people who pay to see the game wind up watching it on the jumbo-tron television screen. Just like home, but with a quarter-mile walk to the toilet and really expensive snacks. It is well known that Jones has turned the Cowboys into an unmatched moneymaking machine - that's why he's going into the HOF this year.

I wouldn't expect that KC fans would much tolerate Cowboy style ticket prices and it's no surprise that they aren't as "social media" oriented as teams from larger metropolitan areas. I think KC fans would see that as a sort of badge of honor.

For your amusement, here's the whole list.

Harris is old and would be expensive, though the Patriots get a huge discount from players looking to catch on with a likely Super Bowl team. Not many teams have that sort of cap space that the Pats have, particularly coming out of the whole free agency orgy. The Dolphins certainly do not have any wiggle room or they surely would have been interested.

The Pats have the luxury of grabbing yet another high quality player on a deal that will no doubt be highly franchise favorable. They love signing AFCE discards to at least pump the player for information. No doubt Harris will be a valuable player as well. He will be especially highly motivated when the Pats face the Jets and the Pats have guys with similarly grindable axes sprinkled all over their roster. Nothing like having someone on your side whose eyes are glowing red when a hated rival is on the docket.

The good news is that the Pats will be facing the Cowboys in the next Super Bowl. As much as things always break the Pats way, this time they are screwed. The 'Boys are no longer just America's Team. Now they are God's Team, courtesy of Pope Francis. Jerry is covering all the bases.

Hahahaha that's funny.

UNLESS... God is a Jew. Krafty just went on a highly publicized trip to Israel.

Belichick, like Parcels, had a hard on for long time veterans. Look at the Patriot's 01 season. The names of ex Jets and ex Giants are all over their roster. It seems to be a winning formula and one that is self perpetuating.
