His reaction? Priceless!

A lineup that starts with Gorkys Hernandez is depressing, but 2 hits
got the Giants 2 runs. Arroyo singles and Pence hits a homerun. .

The other end of the equation is waiting to see what Cueto does today.

Didn't take long for Cueto to help the Dodgers. He's missing all over
the place. 39 pitches by the end of the 2nd. He's not going to last.

A run in the 3rd and a run in the 5th and the Giants are leading 4-2
and yes, Johnny coughed up the lead. Great seeing Buster go yard off
Kershaw. Bigger upside is Cueto keeping his pitch count down and he's
30 pitches less than Kershaw. :)

Joe Panik has pushed Kershaw over 100 pitches now.

Cueto hands over the game to the bullpen with a lead. The giants lead in many games this year and well, we all know the outcomes.

For once it turned out well. Still a single digit hitting team
though.

Okert relieves Cueto in the 8th. What will Bochy do next? Melancon?

where is Melancon, why is he bringing in Law instead of Melancon?

Is that meant to be a rhetorical question? After Melancon had a blown
save on Sunday? I'm glad he stuck with Okert for .2 innings in the 9th
and finished with Law.

It's a win! :)

again late in the game runner on, chance to add on, one out, hits into an easy double play. But if he were to lead off the inning, probably a hit. His low RBI totals have to be alarming, and he should not be batting clean up. Hard to believe but Arroyo already has more RBI than Posey. Posey is hitting around 350 but continues to try to do too much late in the game and ends up with nada. When he first came up. he was Mr. Clutch. Now giants again turn over the game to the bullpen with a lead, but with a lead the offense did not add on. Nice Job Cueto. Two runs that scored could have been removed with sharper defense. Morse's throw to second for the DP was off and the run scored, Than the 3rd run that scored was the run following Gonzalez's grounder that Nunez made a nice play on but then could not exchange the ball from his glove to his throwing hand. The run eventually scored. Turner squares up everything. A former utility guy. WTF.

You do his job and see how you feel after seasons behind the plate, a
badly broken ankle, multiple concussions and a back injury.

It was the only position that I absolutely refused to play. :)

That might be the reason he's not performing well. However, he is
still hitting, he's a very good guide for his pitchers and he can
still gun down a base runners.

It's hard to be too critical when you take into account, some shakey
starting pitching, a bullpen that might or might implode and a batting
order that can't hit double figures.

....For Cueto to cough up the lead the Giants got him against Kershaw?
I'm pretty sure it will be brutally fast, like in a blink of an eye.
He's already given up a lead-off hit on the first pitch I think, and now
has walked the next batter. Seems like he's intent on setting up the
Dodgers nicely. We wouldn't want the Giants to keep a lead too long;
that would be against the rules this season.

...hey well he came close! Turner, the 3rd batter of the game almost
hit a 3 run HR.

How about half the lead?

Give him time. Cueto's not exactly razor sharp with his pitchess.

Arroyo's average may be low, but his at bats look so much better than
most of the Giants. I'm don't want to look at today's lineup. Hensley
Meulens needs to be fired. Cain's game was a potential win, Blach
moreso.

All that for nothing because of the bullpen and I also agree with
Bochy that the lack of hitting puts unreasonable pressure on the
starters and the bullpen.

It may not look by a positive, but the Giants took a step in the right
direction when they dumped Ramirez.

Rendon wasn't hitting much but he was the #6 pick of the draft a couple
of years ago.

So Rangers must have had a real down year a few years ago.

Giants haven't drafted in the top 10 this decade. It appears the drafts
in the last decade -- for Posey, Lincecum, Bumgardner and others --
netted 3 WS titles so hard to complain about that.

I guess those lean years after Barry left paid off about a decade later.

But where the Giants have struggled is getting something out of those
mid-round and late first round picks turning into gems. I think the
Dodgers pulled a couple of those.

I was looking at the MLB drafts wikis and saw that Stratton was a first
round pick a few years ago as well.

We can only hope they try to supplement their drafts with players from
the international market more, as the Dodgers and other teams have done.

Giants are never going to have the money that the Dodgers have and I
can't blame the team's spending in free agency the last couple of years.

I can't fault them for instance for not signing Cespedes, who ended up
signing for 4 years and $110 million from the Mets. But Cespedes is
only hitting .270 with 6 HRs and 10 RBIs so far but with .992 OPS.

Oh well, the team can't hit any worse, so far .230 as a team.
