I can't blame the O's for being mad. The Sox tried to hit batters
over and over and I know there were fastballs in there. Other than
Barnes, there was just warnings. Gausman tries for the first time,
with a breaking ball in the thigh (the "right" way to do it), and he is
gone. Now I didn't see the game and maybe a warning was already
issued, but it doesn't seem balanced from the perspective of not seeing
the games.

After Adam Jones came public with his claims of racial slurs being thrown at him, along with a bag of peanuts by a fan at Fenway Park, a lot of former and current players have come out and said that they have been treated the same in the city of Boston. That includes players who have even played in Boston themselves.

Last night, in an attempt to show their unity against racism and against the individuals who said the remarks, Fenway gave Adam Jones a standing ovation among other gestures.

"It was a nice gesture, but it's not enough," Said FS1's Rob Parker on the Jason Smith Show. "Boston has not yet done enough to shake the title of most racist sports city in America."

The entire interview between Parker and Smith is below, and it starts right away with the discussion about racism in the city of Boston. Listen right here.

You can hear The Jason Smith Show every weekday from 11-2 am est. on Fox Sports Radio.

FIRST 2 SALE COMMENTS: I THINK LIKE A LOT OF RED SOX FANS I WAS MOSTLY A FAN OF HITTING. BECAUSE FOR THE MOST PART THE SOX DIDN'T HAVE MANY GREAT STARTING PITCHERS THAT YOU COULD COUNT ON TO PITCH LIGHT'S OUT ALMOST EVERY TIME THEY PITCHED. OTHER THAN SALE THE ONLY PITCHERS I CAN RECALL THAT FIT THAT BILL ARE CLEMENS AND PEDRO. SURE IS SOME SPECIAL COMPANY FOR SALE TO BE IN. ISN'T IT?
AND I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE REST OF YOU BUT, WHEN YOU CONSIDER WHO WAS PITCHING BY THE 3RD INNING I WAS THINKING PERFECTO AND 21 STRIKE OUTS.

ON TO THE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE GRADES:
BOTH SALE, FOR NOT ONLY PITCHING GREAT FOR 8 INNINGS BUT FOR STRIKING OUT AT LEAST 10 5 GAMES IN A ROW, AND HANLEY FOR HIS TWO MOON SHOT HOME RUNS, ARE BOTH THE STARS OF THE GAME.

AND ONE LAST COMMENT ABOUT KIMBRELL. I KNOW HE CONVERTED HIS 9TH SAVE, BUT THE SOX HAD A 3 RUN LEAD, AND I DON'T THINK THAT SHOULD COUNT AS A SAVE EVER. JUST MHO.

Its a minus for giving up more than one run. ;-O
BTTalbot2003@yahoo.com: May 03 07:30AM -0700

Weird triple play in the game; it took
Dave and Eck a moment to realize what
had happened.
JBJ hit a popup just beyond the infield on
the 3B side. He assumed that it would be
caught and turned toward the dugout, IIRC,
while Moreland and Pedey stayed on 2B and
1B, respectively. But the O's let it drop,
threw it to 2B, then 1B to force Mitch
and Pedey out; JBJ was out at 1B. At least
that's how it was explained at the time.

That was an odd one. JBJ should have at least kept his head in the play.
