6 takeaways from 49ers up-and-down loss to Chargers
By: Kyle Madson | 3 hours ago

The 49ers were on the brink of a massive upset Sunday in Los Angeles.
They fell 29-27, but the result left the 49ers looking like a
competitive club.

Here are six things we took away from the narrow loss:

Injuries stacking up

Sergio Estrada-USA TODAY Sports

The 49ers left Sunday's game worse injury-wise than they entered. Joe
Staley went out in the first half. So did Dante Pettis, Mike McGlinchey
and Marquise Goodwin. Weston Richburg played hurt for all but one play.
McGlinchey returned in the second half. So did Goodwin. The 49ers have a
difficult enough time winning at full strength. The mounting injuries
don't make it easier. With a winnable Week 5 game at home vs. the
Cardinals, they can't afford more players missing time.

The Niner "D" stops the Chargers when it counts and they get the ball
back with Beathard back in the game. (wind knocked out of him, not a
concussion). He's been off the mark on the last series.

That last as long as Beathard's 2nd interception in Niner territory.

Finishing off the opening night roster shouldn't be difficult... Agostino and Chaput waived down to Laval to help make a strong team there. Despres released... but perhaps offered a deal to play in Laval too (although numbers might be getting large there). Lindgren down.

And then you are at this roster:
Drouin - Domi - Gallagher
Tatar - Kotkaniemi - Lehkonen
Hudon - Danault - Armia
De La Rose - Peca - Byron
Plekanec - Scherbak

Mete - Petry
Alzner - Juulsen
Reilly - Ouellette
Benn

Price
Niemi

But what gets tricky is what happens when the injured guys come back: Shaw, Schlemko, Deslauriers, Weber...

If everything goes good early in the season the only one they would like back is Weber. Only spot for Schlemko either waivers or the pressbox. If Weber comes back 100% there is no longer a need for Petry. He would make any pairing he is on weaker defensively plus you do not want him playing with developing players. Continued invisibility from any of JDLR, Hudson and Scherbach would open the door for Deslauries and Shaw. They should be left sidelined till %100. No need to give them a preseason in the regular season at the expense of anyone to rush them back. Even better, some lights things up in Laval pushing MB to the phone now rather then the trade deadline.

All goals were scored within 6 feet of the net, a sign of a defensive that lacks both confidence to play the puck and the physical skills to layout opposing forwards in the slot. If Petry cannot be physical in front of the net, he should convert to forward when his only upside comes while in the other end of the rink. Maybe to get a better read of Benn, evaluate him with a different partner
Jim Bauch <j.bauch@ca.rr.com>: Sep 30 11:28AM -0700

I'm fully expecting a "surprisingly strong" start to the season, i.e. the Habs don't totally suck, and hang around 2nd-3rd in the division for a month or so due to a strong bounce-back by Price and some overachieving by other players. There will be articles about how they were underestimated, who needs a rebuild, MaxPac must have been a bad leader because look how much better they got, just imagine when Weber gets back, etc. Bergevin's smirking will reach new heights.

But it won't last. They'll have the usual shitty late-December road trip(s), and the air will never get back in that balloon. But of course MB will use that good start as proof that he's fixed everything.

Hopefully they learnt one lesson from Max Pac and stop overplaying players thinking more ice time will wake them up. Simple system, if you produce more you get more ice time. What was the point of playing Max Pac more if the end result is more TOI with more of it spent without shots on goal! Just go with Vegas' system of stressing multiple productive lines over spending too much time sacrificing balanced chemistry in favour of jumpstarting inconsistent individual players.

what alabama doesn't do well? What the hell would that be this year?

Don't look at the final scores....they are misleading. We are pulling our qb to go into ruts prevention at ever earlier times. We could have won the a&m game by 50-60....letting the backups of the backups give up some meaningless yards and points while Jalen Hurts and mac jones stall the offense isn't telling.

Alabama can't do anything better from what I see....their defensive pressures the pocket and stuffs the run. Their linebackers are all A grade. The young secondary looks to be ball hawking everywhere....

Offense is literally A to A+ at every position. Our qb is averaging like 4 incompletions per game *AND* whats most amazing about that is he is pushing the ball downfield and the ball still doesnt hit the ground. Our wideouts? We have 4 '#1' wideouts....our freaking tight end is the most unheralded player on the offense, and he's still one of the best tightends in the country. Our offensive line is stacked....it's literally the perfect college offense.

What isn't good? I guess the kicker and punter suck. But who cares.....

Possibly. But having witnessed kids growing up ca. 1976-to date at
college, the military and after working hours I would be willing to
bet a peso or two that my above quote is accurate.

In any event it is not disqualifying IMO, and neither would a sexual
assault 35 years ago that stopped short of rape or physical harm other
than perhaps fear.

The obvious motive IMO is to delay confirmation of ANY conservative
until after mid-term when libs hope to gain seats and attempt to seat
their treasonous socialist candidate. This is the best plan they could
come up with - maybe fact, maybe not. The next confrontation of a
conservative is probably already being scripted by Feinstein clerks.

When you poast unattributed (i.e., plagarized) information that is blatantly untrue you are claiming it as yours. Maybe your education didn't teach you that. Did you really receive an education beyond the elementary years?

That first set was weird - close close close blow out. That takes a crowd right out of it. The Illini seemed to be willing to settle for the one win and that was good enough.

I love a loud gym - Purdue's Holloway was rocking most of the night last night - that makes the game a blast when there's a full house and engaged crowd.

Absolutely - she had something like 9 kills and 8 or 9 blocks out there? That's a damn good game for your second middle - especially so with a freshman. Anything from there is a bonus - a viable blocking threat tho - that's a scary add

You'll start to notice them - just like with football - you're willing to let one player go off - as long as you can hold the others in line. With the Badgers, teams tend to focus on our lefts and are willing to let Rettke get 15

Nod - weird to think she's a senior already - her role has changed a bit - and her presence as you note, is most important right now. Let Hames and Sun and others get used to being on the court and involved w/o hogging the ball - which she could at the detriment of the rest of the team.

Don't worry too much about Sweet - at least yet. Seems to be feeling her way into a lead player from role - some just take time to make that leap.

Gah - you're totally right - that 3 game road trip isn't until Mid Oct - missed the home pair w/ Minnie and Indiana. Minnie is a totally fun team to watch - Hart and Sameday are amazing hitters, SSS is arguably the best setter going and they've got a freshman, Rollins, who is showing flashes of brilliance. They're my #4 team right now behind BYU, Stanford and UNL

They were in the Big Eight for many years, prior to bailing out
the Texas teams by forming the Big XII when the SWC folded. The
feel and spirit of conference football changed dramatically at
that point, in part because there were more top teams and in part
because of the Texas attitude.

Well that strikes me as a bit odd. I rarely encounter folks in
Nebraska with no interest in talking football. I suppose in the
bigger cities, one is more likely to find them though.

Hmmm, not sure what to make of this. Feels like a slam, but I'm
probably being oversensitive. As far as bridge goes, I've always
enjoyed it for the play, and winning is just a nice extra.

A common abbreviation for the legitimate daily newspaper in DC is "WaPo".

Shit your hole, impotent idiot.

If you think that Florsheims are under $50, someone is lacing your meth,
or you're just that ignorant.

Pope Peabrain wouldn't know. Kanye's gone and gotten a god complex, calling himself Ye, and it's clear he's on the bong 24/7. Kim should take the kids and move away.

Why would this drama queen believe this? I'd be more worried about making
the rent or trying to find something better than a "career" at Lyft.

From John Henry's Facebook account today:

"I know a few of you are among the small group of human beings who have a
human contact inside Facebook.

Please have your contact reach out to me. This Alex Cain guy that's been
stalking me for the last couple of decades has to be ended, it's thousands
of harassment page and years of trolling with them on my public work,
including non-profit and public interest work, and it's time to put an end
to him and find out for sure if anyone else is involved and who they are
and how to stop them.

Due to FB's setup, there is no way for someone like me to defend myself nor
even to positively identify someone engaged in this kind of behavior so a
restraining order or other civil can be effectively pursued.

Please ask your contact, to contact me, through this account. Thanks."

Good work, "Alex". Looks like DeBong bought it. Makes you wonder why Chad
would mess with an evil, all-powerful and omniscent troll like Alex. If
DeBong was any kind of friend, he'd warn him not to mess with Cain. I can't
see why this hasn't happened. At the very least, Chad should spinkick Cain
into oblivion.

After all, at least according to JH, even Facebook is powerless against the
evil that is Alex Cain.

My response:
What. The. FUCK.

Either Jo-Jo DeBong is so over-sensitive that he can't stand being mentioned in RSPW years after he was known for posting insane, 2000+ line rants that make a guy like Donald Trump look cute and cuddly, OR he's getting his anus pushed by Chadlee Bryant's dick. Or both. Or something more. Who the hell knows?

"Stalking" him?
Does he mean like how Chad has been stalking my family, my work, my posting history, my ... well you name it, he's stalked it?
Does he mean how Chad called my house at fucking midnight from a Vermont number?

"Stalking" him?
Maybe if the drug-addled dick head would learn to fix his privacy settings on Facebook, then his posts wouldn't be public and his pathetic "life" wouldn't be slung all over the Internet like some pie-throwing scene in the Three Stooges. Maybe if the long-haired limp-dick would figure out that I have not been " stalking " him in any form, that he wouldn't have to make dumb assed posts like the one above.

"Stalking"? Good fucking grief, he makes it sound like I've been shitting in his bushes and leaving live rattlesnakes in the mailbox while I watch from half a mile away with a zoom lens. Sure, I've been visiting his Facebook page --- if that is "stalking" then the paranoid putz really has a very weird definition of "stalking". I might want to mention that the only reason I visited Jo-Jo "YOU LIES TO ME!" DeBong's FB page was due to comments made by his ol' buddy Chadlee. So...yea. Nice friend there. Especially one who brags about having a ton of money but will let you dangle in the darkness not knowing if you will be evicted the next day or not.

Guess I should stop here. Otherwise I'll end up posting like a 1998 John Henry "NoGenius" DeJong after he sipped half a bottle of Budweiser and shot speed into his eyeballs.

But, I have not been "stalking" him, and some of me is tempted to report the stupid paranoid bastard and make sure that he knows what page Webster's has "stalking" on it, so that he can look it up for himself. Though if Chadlee is playing pitcher and John is playing catcher, I don't think John will be able to figure it out enough to stop making stupid remarks like that.

(sigh)

Paranoid idiot. Most of the dumb shit he ends up with is his own fault yet he's too closed-minded and ignorant to see it for himself. No wonder he and the human Eric Cartman get along so well.

There is an "Argentina Apollo" wordpress blog. The link is below.
These provide extensive recollections of Argentina Apollo's more "domination and humiliation"
wrestling moves, as he used to "play" with some of his opponents with his legs & feet.

There is an implied hyper masculine eroticism (for all genders) but nothing
overt or crass.
