Ha ha! You seem overly elated?

Well, I did pick Federer to win the title so let's hope he doesn't eff up too and gets it done.

I said I thought Nadal would make the final and that Federer would beat him.

Let's hope I'm not wrong about the Fed winning the title part.

You've already forgotten those pukeworthy chipper posts about Nadal being a lock for the final and his "scary good" form? I told her not to jump the gun just cause the howler monkey beat a couple of stooges. This is Wimbledon, not that mud-pit in Paris.

Well today feels nice. :))) But it by no means ensures an open path for Federer. He'll have some tough hurdles to clear in order to win this thing. Fortunately he's won his matches without much wear-and-tear so far, so I hope he'll have his best stuff for what's to come.

He better not lose to "Tiger" Djokovic (as in Tiger Woods!)

Wasn't really about Rafa's form... a nervous loss to a big server.

A bit more than just that Fed is also a better vollyer, more varied game, as of now he is also more aggressive than Nadal.

Close enough. Fed didn't really blow him out of the water perhaps, but certainly outclassed him. Dimitrov let himself down again on the big points, although Fed was very solid today and did a great job neutralizing a lot of Dimi's serves. Grigor's shot-selection under pressure is still quite poor (in contrast to Federer). His shotmaking otoh was impressive though. More so than Fed's, who looks to have another gear in store for the coming week.

No, but it helps. When you have two baseliners playing similar games -
particularly among the women, where they may both have blonde ponytails -
and both wearing hats, it can be really difficult.

You didn't even go past first 100...

Here's the list Court1 posted:

I've currently rated 822/1001. You?

You watch more modern blockbusters than I.
I definitely watch more foreign films and classics.
Not sure about independents.

No you don't. You only see what's playing currently in the cinemas. Why don't you join the film thread discussions when we're discussing movies of different eras/genres if you actually do watch them? I just went through the last five films I've seen--a wide range of genres, etc compared to the crap you watch.

Um, I was in school and then working? I wasn't able to see every movie that came out at the time. Plus I avoided seeing The Royal Tenenbaums for a long time because I mistakenly thought I wouldn't like it.

What about the acclaimed foreign language films that I just watched--one Indian and one French--The World of Apu and A Very Long Engagement? I bet you haven't seen those. I also saw Green Room which you said was the best horror movie you saw this year and I thought it was silly.

> You are a true Philistine, uncouth, unsophisticated.

On the contrary. The movies you watch compared to the movies I watch prove the opposite. Sausage Party, lol.

> Go see Spiderman,
> it will do you some good. :)

Spiderman? No. As I said, how many educated people over a certain age go to see movies like that?

Muguruza beat Kerber (so glad, Angie has been mostly a disgrace this year), and gifted a chance to Halep to get #1, if she makes it one round further, Svitolina being out.

Ostpenko also won (without having to play Yet Another Decider).

Venus didn't use a great bunch of stamina to win (good news, given she'll be facing the quite young Ostapenko)

Kuznetsova is having a second youth (or near)

Federer was just too strong, even for a well rested & in form Dimitrov

These were the "good" news

---

Now for lesser "feel good" results:
Muller didn't fold, and quote logically won (in the decider he had Nadal 0/15 or better on many more games than he was challenged on his own serve)

Paire didn't play his best, yet he forced Murray to keep his focus during most of that match

Too bad, the tournament's board didn't choose to have the Djokovic / Mannarino started on the centre court after the Federer / Dimitrov match (will be the first match on that court, tomorrow, wich is a bit odd)

---

Finally, few disappointments:
Zverev lost a match despite having a 2 sets to 1 lead, and worse, it was to Raonic (I like more Sacha's game than Milos)

Garcia wasn't far from Konta

12 shots didn't happen during Becker/Edberg/Lendl days at Wimbledon.
