"Muscles" won slams in 1953 and 1970 - so Federer has some way to go yet.

You're just pissed Macron squeezed Trump's hand like a vice grip. I
think Trump almost cried.

Not taking 6 months off in 2013. If he did he would have > 20 majors by now. It's now clear that he was getting stale. His freedom from serious injury, ironically, kept him from achieving even more.

Rankings are more for seeding purposes, right? Championships aren't always won from the top seed, true in all sport. These "slamless #1's" are rare occurrences, no system is perfect. I agree that the top seed might not always be the best player. But I don't think people should be slighted for playing and having more points than someone else.

He's human, an oversight. Not the end of the world. Shows his state of mind, not all there. Tough day all around.

What do they teach in your corner of the world--heel-clicking and goose-stepping?

Federer picked his game apart in that first set and Cilic crumbled.

Disagree. The interviewer never really gave him an opening to do it.

Yes, the last time he won Wimbledon, the London Olympics hadn't happened
yet.

Sticking around during the dry years has paid off enormously for him.

Obviously I wanted him out of the way, but it's sad to see players melt down on the biggest stage of all. Very odd considering how unflappable he was in the USO final against Federer. Just goes to show that the stakes at Wimbledon are higher than anywhere else.

Was he really injured? Who knows? If he was just falling apart mentally, calling the trainer might still make sense to save some face and perhaps disrupt Federer's rhythm. Fortunately that didn't happen.

Roger has nothing to defend for the rest of the year. He could become number 1 without doing much.

He is the locker room No.1 now with two slam wins.

McEnroe is in the best shape. OK his hair is grey but otherwise he is a
fine specimen.
