What's Federer's record vs big servers?

Fed vs Roddick--21-3
Fed vs Berdych--18-6
Fed vs Soderling--16-1
Fed vs Karlovic--13-1
Fed vs Cilic--6-1
Fed vs Isner--5-2
Fed vs Anderson--4-0
Fed vs Philippoussis--4-1
Fed vs Querrey--3-0

etc.

Just sayin'

Sure, but a Ferrer has about 1% chance of beating Roger & poses no
serious challenge. These big servers force tie-breaks, or if they get 1
break the set is gone. Ferrer could lead 5-1 & Fed would win the set.

Berdych has beaten Fed at Wimbledon & USO, Cilic crushed Fed in USO semi
etc.

As you see he lost to almost all of them, so definitly can do it again.

You're cherry-picking though. As I said, Federr has substantial h2hs over both these guys and has one of the best records vs these big serving/big hitting guys in general.

If it makes you feel better to hold out hope that one of these big servers/big hitters will beat Federer, knock yourself out.

IMO, Federer is looking at the remainder of his draw and thinking it must be Christmas in July! :)

I doubt that. He would be if it were Ferrer & Simon in his path.

I'm going the glass half full route.

Anything can happen but IMO the title is Fed's to lose.

I understand but this Cilic is really dangerous.

So it all depends on which Federer shows up in the SF and the final if he managed to win his SF.

No that would be Kerber. It doesnt matter how you get there; it matters what you do once you get there. She has not been #1 for a day yet. Stop judging her.

er, Kerber made 3 slam finals last yr, won 2 of them, & silver at Olympics.

Pliskova lost 1 slam final.

I wonder how many beside you would take Pliskova's record? I'm guessing
nobody.

IIRC, Cilic didn't miss a first serve in that tie-breaker, and for
someone with his big first serve, that should have made losing it nearly
impossible. But he lost it anyway.

Still, the match is young.

Querrey's forehand is a bit loopy, makes his grass game a little less effective than Cilic's. Also, Cilic is a better returner.

Cilic is getting frustrated now. The number of chances he has missed!

Cilic finally gets the break. Should win the second, has barely been challenged on his serve.

Well it's logical when he's playing a carbon copy of himself.

Indeed. Cilic just broke & leads 4-3 in 2nd.

Querrey isn't a carbon copy, except physically. Gamewise, he's clearly
inferior to Cilic. Cilic has cleaner groundstrokes, particularly on the
backhand side and on return of serve.

Querrey is a #25 player playing over his head this event. Cilic still
has 80% chance to win the match, even down a set.

If Querry can reach tiebreaks anything can happen.

I agree overall Cilic has more game & can produce stunners Sam can't,
but Querrey is stepping up & looking like he belongs out there. With a
bit of luck going his way he could pull it off. I'd say it's 60-40 for
Cilic, so really can go either way.

Yes, he should be too much for Berdych in the final should he get there,
but don't count Querrey out. .. he's a very good chance to beat Cilic imo.

Cilic will give Federer fits in the final because of his return of
serve. He'll crush Fed's second serve.

Maybe the five sets they played last year gave Federer some info that will help him dealing with his serve as he said last year when he came back from two sets down.
