But Nial's already produced nice work! And maybe it depends on how you view 2 Wimbledons over 0.

It would probably be more intelligent to change it to 'The big 5'.

For the last three years (2014-2016) he was part of the big 2. He had the most slams in that period after Djokovic (and was the only other multi slam winner).

Djokovic 6
Wawrinka 3
Nadal 1
Murray 1
Federer 0

Awful stuff from the Brit. Well done Stan for stopping him.

No chance of jinx in this particular match - Stan doesn't lose from here
at his age. In his younger/dumber days yes.

Recovery is harder at his age. He's fine for this match.

Thiem's backhand has not been up to the challenge until now. Far too many errors.

Yes. That's a valid point ;-) Should have been straights for Stan.

This underlines his 'late bloomer' status.

Won his 1st slam in 2014, & now is a bona fide superstar with a growing
cult following. I have friends who aren't into tennis, but love him &
even bet money on his matches. He's the kind of personality/talent that
makes non-tennis people interested/curious.

I like the fact that the early 30s are the new late 20s in tennis.

Modern tennis is not perfect, I miss s/v but it's so great to see
these non-clown, mature, battle hardened players competing.

2010s have been really great in that regard.

Yes, but we need a lot more of these players coming through. Too many
don't seem to care at all about winning. The women's game is worse.

If the players are indifferent then how can the fans be expected to
care? All it does is annoy us. We want to see players busting a gut to
win & be genuinely upset when losing.

The last 10 years of their careers Serena and Graf both won about 40% of the slams they played (that's the whole of the 90s for Graf).

Whisper <beaver999@ozemail.com>: Jun 10 01:52AM +1000

He won his 1st slam just just short of his 29th b'day & could have 4 by
age 32 if he wins on sunday. Well technically he could have 7 slams
before his 33rd b'day, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

If he does win it would mean he's beaten Djoker in 2 of those finals &
Rafa (most likely) in 2 - that's pretty hardcore for a late bloomer.

No idea. But certainly should be a candidate. Pity he didn't find this
form earlier in his career. No Swedish Svengali was present?

I hope Thiem makes me look bad, hopefully by winning the match. Also by putting up a good fight even if he loses.
calimero377@gmx.de: Jun 09 08:30AM -0700

Last Tory candidate who won more was the great Margaret Thatcher in 1979.

Of course Fake Media won't mention it. While still whining that the nasty woman won the popular vote against the orange clown in the US presidential elections.

Balls usually get lighter after they played with them a bit.

Wow. I'm probably the last to know but ...

... it looks like a hung Parliament. What that will mean for the Brexit
negotiations, hmmm, not very good. Getting rid of May's "strongman"
program of having and eating in 12 points is a relief for the EU side.

OTOH, a partner with a flimsy mandate means the negotiations could well
drag on beyond 2 years with umpteen elections in between.

Lord, what a nightmare. Just get Iceberg out of the EU! ;) ;) ;)

Halep doesn't deserve the FO title more than Ostapenko. I tipped Halep
from the beginning but would be happy with either girl winning.
Ostapenko might be the next multiple slam winner type, who knows?
