Some of Ellison's dialogue wasn't true to the characters as we know them. I always thought it would have been a wicked twist if after Kirk let Edith Keeler die, the crew discovered that the true cause of the time rift was not her, but the wino that was killed by McCoy's self-destructing phaser. :)

That would've been a cruel twist indeed ! It was a fine episode and stands up to repeat watching. Apart from the entire cast, Bartell LaRue was very good as the voice of the Guardian of Forever.

Yes !! And I thought she did great in that episode. As did the drunk who vaporizes himself after McCoy leaves. :)

Yes, each incarnation of the series got further from the original concept and spirit. "Deep Space Nine" had a handful of decent episodes, but I couldn't take "Voyager" or "Enterprise." I watched the first Trek reboot movie...wasn't too impressed with the "young" Enterprise crew or the story. And now it's more pandering 2010s politics set in the future--making Sulu gay for example when even George Takei thinks it's stupid. I won't even watch these new films unless they eventually do an intelligent RE-reboot.

How about the new Star Trek show that's coming? I'm not too excited
personally, especially since it's going to be streaming only, so you'll
need to maintain a subscription to the crappy CBS All Access to watch it
(from what I understand).

The lead character, played by an actress from "The Walking Dead" is named
"Michael"... hmmm

That he was a bald Frenchman with a British accent?

They hired practically babies for the first reboot in order to milk the
cow with same crew long long time. So I doubt they're doing another
reboot any time soon.

I thought the latest film was the best with this crew. And the actors
are no longer unbearably young.

I kinda liked Picard more than Kirk...
:)

No, seriously.

Yeah, but I think that was supposed to be cool somehow (I never thought so).

I've heard nothing about this. Doesn't sound promising.

That's probably so, but you never know. I've lost track of how many Spiderman boots and reboots there have been since 2002.

I didn't mind them being young as much as that you're supposed to accept that Starfleet would put them into positions of great authority at age 22. On second thought, them being young would have probably have annoyed me anyway. The older you get, the more 20-somethings seem like puppies.

How can anyone not like Sejanus!

Patrick Stewart is too slightly-built a guy for anyone to believe that he could kick a Klingon's ass (yes, there was actually at least one story where this happened). They should have just left him as he was, because Picard could never be even a quasi-Kirk.

Kirk is like a free wheeling start-up CEO and Picard is the Fortune 500 version...both appropriate for where Starfleet was at the time.

And why do many photos with beer indicate that she likes beer?

Which collusion do you mean?

This Sources guy has leaked many mean things about the orange clown. But nothing about any collusion.

What is the best death scene from your favorite movie?
Mine is the bloody death in Aliens!

Do you mean from the first film in the franchise, "Alien" ?

I read about the influence of HP Lovecraft in films like "Alien" and "The Thing". Pretty interesting.

In the actual interview clip Stan said 'he's playing best level ever, on
clay". Apparently added on a follow-up that Rafa has been more
aggressive than usual from the start of the year.

I know you guys are desperate to claim that Fed beat Rafa at his best on
HC... but he did not. Rafa was playing well but not this well and was
not mentally as strong either which can easily be seen from AO 5th set &
Miami. Even at Rome he still had a minor dip against Thiem.

No, he is not good nf off clay, Fed, Novak, Fabio, Stan, my uncle can all beat him!!!

Rafa was hitting better at RG than he did at MC for example, and was
mentally stronger too.

Rafa has played whole year well, but his form and confidence have
improved gradually. He wasn't nearly as strong mentally at AO as he was
at RG.
