Whisper <beaver999@ozemail.com>: Jun 10 01:52AM +1000

He won his 1st slam just just short of his 29th b'day & could have 4 by
age 32 if he wins on sunday. Well technically he could have 7 slams
before his 33rd b'day, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

If he does win it would mean he's beaten Djoker in 2 of those finals &
Rafa (most likely) in 2 - that's pretty hardcore for a late bloomer.

If so then is Stan the rightful guy in 'The big 4' over Murray?

Amazing turnaround for a guy who had won zilch until he was 28. I think the Australian 2013 against Djokovic was the turning point for Stan, the day realized he could hang around with the top 4.

Yes, clay helps Stan take big cuts at the ball. Murray get an outstanding job of getting everything back in the first three sets (though it took its toll in the last two), hitting some stunning lobs in particular. Stan did make some avoidable errors and mental lapses, but that was due to the pressure Murray was putting on him.

No. What people like you don't understand is that it is not only about numbers, especially not only about slams won.
It is about the play, the style, Golden Grand Slams, the competition, number of memorable matches, character, role model qualification, grace, social engagement, the opposition, numbers of all-time greats playing at the same time, fan base, off-court behaviour, intelligence, comparable success in a shorter time, sexiness, dignity and a lot more.

> The most impressive Serena stat for me is that she's played 51 slam or olympic final matches across all disciplines and only lost 8 times. That's unreal to me. Graf, for comparison, is 24-13. 84% vs 64% with slam/olympic titles on the line. Navratilova is 59-26 (69%).

When Graf was off-form she still made at least the finals. Serena however then bombs out in earlier rounds.

To take those stats to bolster Serena's claim???

Let me guess - ....

Outstanding work taking out the grinder. There's half of the Final I want, now if Thiem can take out
Humbalito...

It's reaching the point where people that serve him will have to choose between loyalty and doing the right thing.

Stan played a loose game, hopefully a breadstick.

The fifth set is how Stan played against Djoker in the 2015 final. I had almost forgotten. That is what it took to beat Djoker in those days.

Yes full credit to Andy. He did a great job putting up this kind of
resistance & credit to his No.1 ranking, but Stan is the man!

| No chance of jinx in this particular match - Stan doesn't lose from here

Especially since Murray can't absorb the body blow forever....I like
your phrase "talent onslaught".
