Just took a fast peak at Federer vs Haas to see how Federer's form looks. Two observations:

1) Federer's form looks pretty good for his first grass-court match.

2) Tommy Haas is without a doubt the best looking professional male tennis player ever. So handsome.

That's all.

Let's hope this layoff serves him as well as the last one did.

You don't think the backwards cap negates that?

Um, no?

He's prettier than 99.9% of all WTA players.

P.S. Federer's new haircut is too short! :(

Well Aidan Turner with a cigarette was enough to put you off.

It's a good sign though. Signals focus and commitment (unless he just has mange).

Big difference between a backwards hat and smoking cigarettes. Cigarettes are disgusting IMO.

Hair=strength. Ask Samson. Since Nadal has had a hair transplant his confidence has soared.

I'm no fan of cigarettes. Their smoke permeates everything, messes up skin and teeth, etc. And kissing a smoker? Not pleasant. It's like having ashes dumped on your tongue.

Vin Diesel and the Rock both are bald. They are strong. Argument refuted. :)

I've never dated a smoker. Deal-breaker.

Well, so much for Federer looking good. He lost the second set.

And down a break in the third. Losing to a 39-year-old would be an ominous start to his grass season. Roger, the Philistines are upon you.

It took me a moment to get that quip. British slang and all.

I love legends, mythology, folklore, stuff like that so it appeals to me in that sense. I'm curious enough about it that I bought the novel yesterday as the library copy was out and there was a waiting list for it (the show only covers 1/3 of the book apparently). Maybe just watch the first episode ? Mind you, the first episode does have quite possibly the most WTF moment of the year in either film or tv that I've seen, so it's worth it for that at least.

Yeah, not everyone I've spoken to about the "American Gods" show could get into it either. At least you would have seen the scene (involving the Queen of Sheba) from the first episode that I was referring to - now that's not something that you see every day :D

I'm still undecided about watching the new "Twin Peaks", but I'll definitely check out the Harryhausen documentary.

Yes. But the thing is Sampras didn't play as much as Federer.

It is you who is highly biased. Rafa has been practically unbeatable this year, on both hard and clay - save for vs Federer... It's just too hard for Fedhaters to admit this fact, understandably; If not for Fed's resurgence this is Rafa's best year ever and that's a fact. Hell, it may even be his best, regardless of the losses to Fed. Imagine that.

Are we talking about success or level of play? Make up your mind.

Rafa's best year was 2010, but beating Soderling and Berdych to
win FO-Wim doesn't impress me as doing it against Federer in
2008.

Neither is his successful clay campaign this season against
Vinolas, Goffin, Thiem and Wawrinka proof he's been at very
highest level.

Hes been good, yes.

It may. If Federer can't keep up his form from early in the year, Nadal could clean up.

French open shouldn't be counted as a blue chip slam. Nadal 5.
