Changing the name of the stadium is no punishment to Court--it's just words after all. Her life won't be affected at all.

This sounds as if you're advocating more serious "punishment" to
affect her life.

Like firing squad? Sounds resolute. We have to show these bogans.
Wait. She's old and will die soon anyway, maybe executing her
with her kids as well would be appropriate punishment for not
bowing down before lgbtqiapkz activists?

Her slam titles of course would be confiscated and (equally)
redistributed among the oppressed dyke tennis players, whose
tennis careers were destroyed by vicious patriarchy.

In the end, I blame and denounce the media for giving a voice and platform to what should be a irrelevant portion of the population.

It is disgusting MN is advocating a ban on Margaret & taking her name
off 'Margaret Court Arena' at AO. Very poor form.

Margaret says she has a lot of gays & blacks in her church & loves them all.

I like MN & Court about the same. Both strong women with strong
personal opinions.

Both are entitled to their opinion. It's not like anyone is going to
kill themselves based on what 2 old women say in the media.

Kyrgios can be very dangerous on clay, but only in bo3.

I crunched all the numbers & came up with Halep d Stosur as the most
likely final.

It says a lot about current state of women's tennis when those 2 come
out as the most likely to make the final.

Good. Stop wasting money and time on this farce research.
Brian W Lawrence <brian_w_lawrence@msn.com>: Jun 02 08:29AM +0100

From his statement in the Rose Garden:

"I would like to begin by addressing the terrorist attack in Manila."

Philippine sources say it wasn't a 'terrorist attack'.

"Even if the Paris Agreement were implemented in full, with total
compliance from all nations, it is estimated it would only produce a
two-tenths of one degree -- think of that; this much -- Celsius
reduction in global temperature by the year 2100."

He's quoting from an MIT report, which actually estimates a figure
between 0.6 & 1.1 degrees. The authors say he 'misunderstood our
research'.

"Our tax bill is moving along in Congress, and I believe it's doing very
well. I think a lot of peop"le will be very pleasantly surprised."

There is no bill yet, so it isn't before Congress at all. Congress are
struggling with the Obamacare repeal and don't want to look at the
tax bill before that is passed - if it ever is. Obamacare will be
significantly rewritten in the Senate, but as it stands it will struggle
to get a majority.

"Beyond the severe energy restrictions inflicted by the Paris Accord, it
includes yet another scheme to redistribute wealth out of the United
States through the so-called Green Climate Fund -- nice name -- which
calls for developed countries to send $100 billion to developing
countries all on top of America's existing and massive foreign aid
payments. So we're going to be paying billions and billions and
billions of dollars, and we're already way ahead of anybody else."

The US had committed to contribute $3b to the Fund, of which the Obama
administration already paid $1b. EU countries contribute as individual
nations and have pledged $4.7b. His 'billions and billions and billions
of dollars' is currently $2b. Admittedly that only covers the years to
2020, but contributions beyond 2020 would be agreed in the future.

"I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris.
(Applause.) I promised I would exit or renegotiate any deal which fails
to serve America's interests."

Bill Peduto, mayor of Pittsburgh, tweeted, "Fact: Hillary Clinton
received 80% of the vote in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh stands with the
world & will follow Paris Agreement."

Seems like a very good list, essential cinema. The first film on the
list that I've NOT seen is #203, 'To be or not to be (1942)'...

:)

Are you serious? #203 on the list is the first film you haven't seen? That's why I've been posting there is no way StephenJ has seen more classic films than you have or has seen more films from different genres which aren't current than you have. Not a chance. How many movies have you watched today alone? Six? ;)

But seriously, did StephenJ ever post in movie threads in the past before I started posting on RST and did he show an interest in all genres from the past, i.e movies pre 2007?

Here's the same list on IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/list/ls074674014/?start=1&view=compact&sort=listorian:asc

IMDB tells me that I've rated 789/1001 titles on the list.

Yup. Got lucky. Or it's just a good list. I hope it would have been a
top 200 list! :)

Nope, I don't think so either. And if a non-pathological human wanted to start participating in movie discussions, he'd just show up and start talking with people in a normal fashion and be welcomed by those already there. But this guy of course takes the Trumpian route and tries to bull his way to head of the pack, claiming he was the MOST qualified of ANYONE here because he'd seen MORE movies of the BROADEST variety "in the theater" (as if that's the least bit relevant) than ANYONE here. Presumably the rest of us were then expected to respond with "oohs" and "aahs" and defer to his judgement on all films forever. LOL. Good luck with that.

Not really, read below:

Reuters in December 2015 reported that Nicaragua objected to the
climate agreement "saying it did not do enough to protect ?Mother
Earth,? in a symbolic protest after the deal had been formally
adopted."

The news agency noted that Paul Oquist, head of the Nicaraguan
delegation at the December 2015 session, said wealthy nations
should do more to reduce their emissions. Nicaragua also had said
developed nations were "not doing enough to reduce their use of
carbon and are not providing sufficient funding to help the
developed world adapt to the impact of climate change,"
Reuters reported.

"We?re not going to submit because voluntary responsibility is a
path to failure," Oquist told Climate Home in 2015, a media
organization covering climate news. He added: "It?s a not a
matter of being troublemakers, it?s a matter of the developing
countries surviving."

In September 2016, a Spanish-language post by the United Nations
also said that the Nicaraguan vice president, Moisés Omar
Halleslevens Acevedo, had reiterated his nation?s concerns on
global warming but did not believe the Paris Agreement would
prevent the worsening of the global issue.

"Many of us concur that what was agreed in Paris is not
sufficient," and more ambitious actions are urgent, Halleslevens
Acevedo told the UN General Assembly in September
2016.

Nicaraguan media have also reported that Nicaragua?s absence from
the agreement is due to its concerns over the agreement, not out
of lack of concern for climate change.

Amid a civil war since 2011, Syria?s participation in the
agreement has been difficult because members of the Syrian
government are subject to European and American sanctions.
