+1

I went to a Dead concert in the 1980s. The music was the least of the experience.

Without a brother link I can only guess which Colin you mean. Probably Colin Quinn but maybe not.

Maybe Colin Kelly...

Does anyone here know who he was?

When I just type Colin into Google, Colin Hanks is my first suggestion.

Considering the source my first thought was whoa, Colin Powell must have said something not 100% flattering about Trump.

Yup, that was my conclusion too. Something that those women who attend all the women's expos can drag their dads or husbands to for Father's Day.

So wait, MotherJones wrote an article busting left-wing anti-science BS?

For the nice towels I have at home, you're right.

For the thin, crappy towels hotels use, the difference is noticeable.

I always put them on the floor to get new towels.

I think the success of the TP was due to the timing.

With a traitorous socialist half-breed president, real Americans were
obligated to react just as they did in 1776,

Benedict Arnolds will always be countered by Nathan Hales.

If that gives credibility to BLM, so be it.

Well that assumes that what they say they'll do, can actually be done in a practical sense.

The GOP's problem isn't that they refuse to do what they know is right. Their problem is they got into power by making promises that no one, including they, can keep.

Has a city in the modern era actually profited from the olympics?

While I enjoy the Olympics and watch as much of it as I can, I would actively fight against having it in any city I happen to be living in. The obscene amount of money spent on a 3 week event is beyond ridiculous. Rio is the latest example.

I don't know how LA did. I would think that if you could use existing venues,
as they mostly did, it wouldn't be too bad. But hundreds of millions
in capital expenditure would seem to make it stupid to hold one.

That's supposedly LA's advantage, that they don't really need to build much so can actually afford it.

There will always be unhappy people - mostly because LBJ's and Obama's
legislated equality didn't make them equal. Oddly enough that doesn't
have anything to do with race.
