The UEFA Cup is a better option than third or fourth place. As well as
a trophy, the winners of the UEFA Cup go straight into the group stages,
with no early qualifying games in god knows where.

I don't think the early calling of an election has anything to do with
'Brexit'. She promised a while ago there would be no election until 2020.

It looks to me to be a way of using the 'Brexit' vote, as prop in the
election, taking advantage of the fact that it impossible to go into the
negotiations asking for a soft 'Brexit', even though that is what may
eventually be what the UK ends up with.
That gives Labour a problem because they cannot present themselves as
going into the 'Brexit' negotiations asking for 'soft Brexit' as the EU
will simply tell them to clear off.
Personally I think they should have just gone into the election as
supporting remain and be dammed. That is what they believe in anyway. If
they are going to lose, as is widely predicted, then at least they
should lose fighting for something they believe in. The referendum was
so close and so badly executed that I don't think anyone could accuse
them of being anti democratic.

I should have posted, I don't think the early calling of an election
has anything to do with getting a better deal from 'Brexit'. It simply
gives the Tories an advantage in the election, over any party that wants
or tries to negotiate 'soft Brexit'.

Yes, congratulations indeed, he finally won a championship in England,
not the one he would like to win but he was hardly in a position to pick
and choose and you can only win what you're in.
